A blog, a post for all our friends in the world. To all the friends from all over the world, to the sailors and locals we met in the last two years on our cruise around the world.
We told our friends that we were going on a two-month vacation after a two-year cruise around the world to meet our family, we were very worried about what we would do in the two months we would be in Israel
But it didn’t happen… what happened is important for you to know.
It all started with an alarm on Saturday morning 7/10 18:30…..and our lives changed.
A phone call from my sister Taly:
Noa, her daughter is at a party in the south, where a shocking pogrom is taking place, and she and her boyfriend are hiding under the bushes, all around them are shots, dead people, screaming
Bringing Ilan to Israel immediately was no longer so simple, and as everyone arrived in Israel by a different route from the other side of the world, rescue flights of Israelis who only wanted to be here in Israel during these difficult days.
War is a devastating and shocking event, which leaves its mark on everyone who encounters it. It causes fear, suffering and death, and can destroy an entire life.
Amidst the war, normal life continues to exist, albeit in a distorted way. People still need to eat, sleep, work and raise their children.
In Israel, for example, war is part of life. The country is in an ongoing war with the Palestinians, and the threat to personal security is always present.
But despite the threat, life in Israel continues to exist. People go to work, study, get married and have children.
Normal life alongside the war is difficult and challenging. They require a lot of effort, and are full of risks.
But they are also full of hope and faith. They remind us of the human desire for life, peace and prosperity.
Here are some examples of normal life alongside the war:
Hanukkah was celebrated in the shadow of the rockets at my brother Dror’s with all the family members with great joy.
Ilan had a grandson and the alliance was made among the limited family.
Children play in the street, despite the alarms and barrages.
People who continue to work, despite the threat to personal security.
Couples who get married, despite the ongoing war.
Normal life alongside war is a testament to the power of the human spirit. They remind us of the human desire for life, peace and prosperity.
Two words that I take out of my lexicon, and don’t want to hear anymore in my life that the heart stops beating, and the lungs don’t breathe:
It was allowed to publish and combine the words.
The morning of 2024 after a barrage of missiles at 12 at night, it would seem that our last day…. but there will probably be more days… and many days and not the last.
And I hope for peace, as my mother used to say: that my brother will no longer be in the army.
In the meantime our yacht in FIJI has weathered one hurricane safely

הכל התחיל באזעקה בשבת בבוקר 7/10 18:30…..וחיינו השתנו
טלפון מאחותי טלי: נועה הבת שלה נמצאת במסיבה בדרום ,שם מתרחש פוגרום מזעזע והיא עם החבר שלה מתחבאים מתחת לשיחים, מסביבם יריות, הרוגים, צרחות
להביא את אילן לארץ מיד כבר לא היה כל כך פשוט, וככל שכולם הגיעו לארץ בנתיב אחר מהצד השני של העולם, טיסות חילוץ של ישראלים שרק רצו להיות פה בארץ בימים קשים אלו
מלחמה היא אירוע הרסני ומזעזע, שמותיר את חותמו על כל מי שנתקל בה. זה גורם לפחד, סבל ומוות, ויכול להרוס חיים שלמים
בתוך המלחמה, חיים נורמליים ממשיכים להתקיים, אם כי בצורה מעוותת. אנשים עדיין צריכים לאכול, לישון, לעבוד ולגדל את ילדיהם
בישראל, למשל, מלחמה היא חלק מהחיים. המדינה נמצאת במלחמה מתמשכת עם הפלסטינים, והאיום על הביטחון האישי קיים תמיד
אבל למרות האיום, החיים בישראל ממשיכים להתקיים. אנשים הולכים לעבוד, לומדים, מתחתנים ומביאים ילדים לעולם
החיים הרגילים לצד המלחמה הם קשים ומאתגרים. הם דורשים מאמץ רב, והם מלאי סיכונים
אבל הם גם מלאי תקווה ואמונה. הם מזכירים לנו את הרצון האנושי לחיים, שלום ושגשוג
הנה כמה דוגמאות לחיים נורמליים לצד המלחמה
חג חנוכה נחגג בצל הטילים אצל אחי דרור עם כל בני המשפחה בשמחה גדולה
לאילן נולד נכד והברית נעשתה בקרב המשפחה המצומצמת
ילדים משחקים ברחוב, למרות האזעקות והמטחים
אנשים שממשיכים לעבוד, למרות האיום על הביטחון האישי
זוגות שמתחתנים, למרות המלחמה המתמשכת
חיים נורמליים לצד מלחמה הם עדות לכוחה של הרוח האנושית. הם מזכירים לנו את הרצון האנושי לחיים, שלום ושגשוג
שתי מילים שאני מוציא מהלקסיקון שלי, ולא רוצה לשמוע עוד בחיי שהלב מפסיק לפעום, והריאות לא נושמות

בוקר 2024 אחרי מטח של טילים ב12 בלילה, היה נראה כי היום האחרון שלנו…. אבל כנראה שיהיו עוד ימים…והרבה ימים ולא אחרונים
אך זה יגמר: לאלוהים הפתרונים…ובנתיים היאכטה שלנו בפיט (קבורה באדמה בפיג’י 9 עברה סופת הוריקן אחת בשלום
